Single Minded: Sebastian Bach, Freeway, Nine Inch Nails and More Every Tuesday Single Minded highlights new tracks hitting stores (or the Web) this week. On Fridays, come back for rarities, remixes, mash-ups and more. Sebastian Bach, Angel Down (Full Album Stream) [Spinner] The first single from Bach’s latest is charmingly titled “Love is a Bitchslap,” proving maybe he hasn’t learned a whole lot from that T-Shirt Incident. Freeway, “It’s Over” [MySpace] After endless delays and years out of the zeitgeist, Philly rapper Freeway releases his second record, frontloaded with a song called “It’s Over.” Sometimes the jokes, they write themselves. OneRepublic, “Apologize” [MySpace] Timbaland-championed pop band cross-breeds The Fray and Five for Fighting, proving definitively that even savvy hip-hop producers can have terrible taste in rock music. Jordin Sparks, “Tattoo” [MySpace] First single from last year’s American Idol winner is built on the chorus “you’re on my heart just like a tattoo.” This prompts a few questions, chief among which is, “Where can we get one of these heart tattoos? Do you have to go to some kind of combination inker/cardiologist? Do they take Aetna?” Nine Inch Nails, Y34RZ3R0R3M1X3D (Full Album Download) [NIN Official] If you want to stick it to the record label, release your latest album for free, online. If you want to stick it to your fans, give it an aggravating title that’s a pain in the ass to type.

R. Kelly Sex Tape Will Be Shown During Trial, Another James Brown Child Identified, R.E.M. To Release Live CD/DVD The judge overseeing R. Kelly’s child pornography trial has confirmed the public will be allowed to see the controversial videotape that allegedly shows the singer having sex with — and urinating on — a minor because the girl in question denies she is the girl who appears on the tape (as does Kelly). The judge said he’d consider overturning his decision if the prosecution calls the girl as a witness. Kelly’s trial begins September 17th, almost five years and twenty-two chapters of “Trapped in the Closet” after he was first slapped with child pornography charges. Ongoing DNA tests following James Brown’s death have revealed the late singer has another child; three weeks ago two more of his children were identified. My Chemical Romance, All-American Rejects, Daughtry, Big & Rich and Gretchen Wilson have been announced as opening acts for Bon Jovi’s ten-date residency in New Jersey this fall. Dates for the shows, which will inaugurate the new Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, after the jump. As various digital music services experiment with DRM-free releases to compete with iTunes, Black Eyed Peas‘ will.i.am has decided to jump into the fray. He’ll launch a digital music store on August 28th on his Web site to coincide with the release of single “I Got it From My Mama” to sell his own copyright-protection-free tracks. R.E.M. will release a live CD/DVD titled R.E.M. Live CD/DVD on October 16th, which will feature their performance at Dublin’s Point Theatre on February 27, 2005, two years before the band returned to the city to test-drive songs for a still-forthcoming album. Click here to see the DVD’s trailer, and get the tracklisting after the jump. Our Burden is Light A redemption-drama with the soundtrack of our lives, composed by Nate Mendel of the Foo Fighters and music by the Foo Fighters, The Dave Matthews band, Tom Waits and David Gray. Nothing in painter Karen Moone's life fits. Like the punk music her boyfriend sings, everything is disjointed, distorted and disturbed. Karen's father has been away for some time and in dealing with her mother's loneliness and depression, the fabric binding their lives has become frayed to the point of breaking.
