juliette lewis - still crazy, sexy & cool

oh i seriously miss seeing juliette lewis up on the silver screen - i'm sure some of you must agree with me? (a total favorite actress of mine) she's done a number of great movies over the years (cape fear, natural born killers, strange days, husbands & wives, kalifornia - to name just a few) but she's really taking this whole musician thing quite far (it's been about five years since she first started rocking out) what may have seemed like a whim has turned into a whole new rock & roll career for ms. lewis! she's always given off the impression of being a kook from another planet but with an endearing & cool hippie vibe (although she is all dialed into scientology these days...) below are some pictures of her performing with her band the licks (which formed in '03) over at the bevrijdings festival in the netherlands - a few months back i saw her perform at the roxy and she along with the band put on a super high energy crazy show - i fucking loved it! popbytes over & out for now...xxoo PS if you happen to be playing grand theft auto 4 - make sure to tune into the 'radio broker' station while driving in the car - juliette lewis plays the DJ! no doubt - back in the studio!

hey hey! this is great news - finally no doubt is working on their new album (expected release is sometime next year) and the good folks over at celebrity babylon caught gwen stefani, tony kanal, adrian young (such a cutie), and tom dumont at a 'secret' recording studio right here in los angeles - i've loved ms. stefani's two solo albums but it's going to be awesome to see her back with the band! i can't wait to hear some of their new material - we all know it's going to be killer! just last night at gwen's concert in irvine, CA the boys joined her at the end for three songs - just a girl, it's my life, & spiderweb - i'm glad the band has been able to stay together while gwen went off and did her thing! today i'm relaxing and running a few errands - it's pretty hot here and oddly on the humid side! i hope everyone is having a great weekend so far - i'll check you all later! popbytes over & out for now...xxoo! hey hey! this past saturday evening i was so lucky to attend a truly kick-ass show at the roxy (many thanks to ms. heather) featuring juliette & the licks (join them on myspace) i've always had a thing for juliette lewis - she has done so many great movies - a totally brilliant actress - i can't even begin to list some of her best movies here but off the top of my head i think of natural born killers, kalifornia, cape fear, and husbands & wives - ms. lewis started her band about five years ago - even saying at the concert that she was always afraid to do what she truly wanted to do - now she's doing it - and is doing an awesome job - i kid you not that it was one of the best shows i've ever been too! i was mesmerized by the band's stage presence and juliette's overall in your face - crazy but cool and sexy as all hell vibe - but it wasn't a messy at all - she clearly had a mission - and accomplished it more than i could ever expected - juliette and her band simply blew me away! you must pick up the band's latest album four on the floor which was released earlier this year! she's such an interesting character - lots of actors & actresses are doing the crossover thing these days but often it feels unauthentic - but with juliette - i tell you it's the real fucking deal - i think everyone else that went to the show would agree with me! kudos to her for carrying out her dream of playing in a rock & roll band (gosh i'd love to be in a rock band but i seriously can't sing for shit - i'll just stick to playing guitar hero!) another thing that blew me away was running into a couple of people i went to college with back in NYC - like over ten years ago - how freakin' random (hello lori, wade, mark & rachel) i always say it's such a small world! i also found out that the lead vocalist from one of the opening acts suffrajett (join them on myspace) i went to college with as well - simi got up on the stage at the end and rocked out to a cover of hot stuff w/ ms. lewis - i'm so
