When I first listened to this CD,I had a tough time figuring out as to when this live disc was recorded. However,at the tail end,I hear John Phillips mentioning Spanky's name. That,of course gave me my answer.I thought MAYBE this CD was from the late '60's,but I guess for the low price,I shouldn't complain too much.Oh,the sound mix is good, but the only downfall of this disc is that you can barely hear the audience.I'm sort of fussy about live albums that I consider to be a great piece of work.Plus, between each of the ten tracks, there's a gap of silence. That doesn't work here. So,I know that 'Dreamin' Live' was in fact recorded sometime in the late '80's or early '90's when they toured the oldies circuit.I saw them play live once and the show was okay. With original members John Phillips(R.I.P.)and Denny Doherty being joined by McKenzie Phillips(John's daughter-One Day At A Time's Julie Cooper)and former Spanky And Our Gang vocalist Spanky McFarlane, the 'new' Mamas&Papas managing to nearly master their vintage sunshine pop legacy(no pun intended). All the good tunes are here, like "Creeque Alley","Monday,Monday","California Dreamin'","Dedicated To The One I Love" and "I Saw Her Again Last Night".If you don't mind what I've said in this review, you should get a lot from this release. No masterpiece here, but decent.
