Disco de The Orb: “The BBC Sessions, 1991-2001”
 Descripción (en inglés) :
The proliferation of electronica artists throughout the 1990s and 2000s may make it easy to lose sight of the genre's founding fathers, but this compilation of the Orb's BBC sessions, recorded between 1989 and 2001, will rectify that mistake. Forerunners of IDM and ambient house, the Orb's pulsating, psychedelic grooves were tremendously influential, thanks in part to the support of John Peel, who recorded several excellent sessions with the group over the years.
<p>The two-disc set opens with the 20-minute track "A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules from the Center of the Underworld (Loving You)" is a highlight, but classics like "Back Side of the Moon" and their signature "Little Fluffy Clouds" also stand out. Digitally remastered, this collection is as essential as any studio album in the Orb's catalogue.

- Great album, not SACD
I just want to say that this is a really good album! But my review isn't to tell you how awesome The Orb is, but to WARN you that this isn't a SACD that is being advertised. There is no SACD icon on the CD jewel, and my SACD player doesn't pick up an SACD layer on the disc. So there you have it. If you want the album for the SACD layer, you won't be getting it. It still sounds good....but it isn't what I thought I was ordering. Just keep this in mind. Awesome music, and I love Little Fluffy Clouds.

- What a find!
I was a huge fan of the Orb in the 90's. Live Orb 93, Orbus Terrarum, Adventures etc were the pinnacle of electronica for me. Fun, trippy, demented, upbeat, druggy, groovey - what a thrill they were in the day.
With Orbus Terrarum I felt they reached the pinnacle of their genre - but sadly couldn't figure out where to go from there. Each disc after Orbus for me was just progressively worse than the last.
But for all us fans of the old Orb, here are the moldy oldies and more freshened up to sound new again. All this wonderful old school Orb music on MP3 for under $10? What a find - what a gas! I haven't had this much fun with a music purchase in a long time. Buy this, get your best headphones on and get ready to trip like it's nineteen ninety uh, pick your year. A little tonic for the soul in these menacing times.
