NEW Wave band “Forty Fiver” will be appearing at Brennan’s Bar, Winsover Road, Spalding on Saturday. They specialise in classic ‘New Wave’ songs of the late 1970’s to early 1980’s, featuring artists such as Elvis Costello, Ian Dury, The Buzzcocks, The Jam, The Stranglers, Squeeze and many more.

British producer Martin Rushent worked with a wide range of musical acts, from Dame Shirley Bassey to Joy Division, making his mark in the late '70s with guitar-led punk bands the Stranglers and the Buzzcocks and the crystalline computer-driven production showcased on the Human League's 1981 synth-pop album Dare.

In the late 1970s and early '80s, the innovative British record producer Martin Rushent helped alter the course of popular music as he worked with a succession of culturally significant and hugely successful bands in the punk and synth-pop genres.

An Upper Basildon-based music producer who worked with the Buzzcocks and The Stranglers died on Saturday.
