- demo-itis
I'll admit it. I've never listened to their EP. The first time I heard The Virgins was on my local college radio station. (Rich Girls)
Loved the song, bought the album. Loved the album.
Please, if you like upbeat, catchy NYC style rock n roll ala The Strokes, you'll dig this. Never mind the naysayer 1 star reviews by the typical "I heard this band like a whole year ago, they were great then but now they suck because other people found out about them" music snobs. Put it on already!

- Disappointed
I first heard One Week of Danger on Gossip Girl, and loved it. I found it on You Tube and played it all the time, and couldn't wait for a full length album to be put out. When I picked up this album I was sorely disappointed to find out that the music I had loved so much for the past few months in no way resembled what I had just bought. The music was slick and stylized and over produced, not leaving any of the grit that I had loved. The lyrics to One Week Of Danger were not all the lyrics that I had been singing for the past six months. This album could have been put out by a completely different band for all I knew, it was that different. I won't say it is a bad album, there are some interesting tracks on it, but for those of you expecting the raw version you heard on You Tube and Gossip Girl, you won't find it on this album.
- i have there ep
i have there ep and it is 10000000 times better than this i dont know why it got changed so much when they actually recorded it
- Love it!
I absolutely love The Virgins. They are so original and their music is so different from anything else out there today. Right now this is one of my favorite albums and I never get tired of it. Everyone should buy it because I'm sure you'll love it as much as me!
- No filler!
The album consists of ten sharp, punchy, and well-produced tunes. If you're a fan of the Cars, Elvis Costello, and Strokes and don't mind occasionally snarky lyrics, this is a fantastic listen all the way through!
I don't understand those pining for the "grittier" sound of the EP. It wasn't exactly lo-fi. It was a fairly clean sounding demo for a band that has the kind of strong songs that really shine when polished.
It's a very solid 4 star album (I'm stingy with the 5 star ratings unlike some other reviewers), but I tacked on a star to compensate for the ridiculous one star reviews based on a single song.
