Rock Daily’s Fantasy Version of Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp For the past ten years, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp has made baby boomer dreams come true. For an Indian Summer weekend, some of rock’s greatest personalities wipe the dust off their sleeping bags and hunker down with fans wealthy enough to foot the bill. To celebrate their tenth anniversary, this year’s Fantasy Camp (which takes place November 7th through 11th) is abandoning the buggy confines of the woods and convening in Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay, where campers will hang with Slash, Roger Daltrey, Joe Walsh, Cream’s Jack Bruce and many more. Of course, an opportunity like this comes with a hefty price tag: $9,499. Here at Rock Daily, we’d need a guarantee that the following ten things will happen for us to break out the checkbook: Slash lets us prank call Axl Rose. We dial and say, “Hey Axl, it’s Charlie Manson. Heard you’re a big fan. Listen, I just escaped from jail and I need a place to hide out. What’s your address?” An impromptu session of Inside The Actor’s Studio with Roger Daltrey. He can illuminate us on what it was like to appear on shows like Sliders and Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Vince Neil leads campers on a raid on Hugh Hefner’s Playboy suite at the Palms. Doobie Brother/military defense consultant Jeff “Skunk” Baxter enlightens us with Pentagon secrets. Face painting with Kiss’ Bruce Kulick. Slash teaches us Hotelroom Trashing 101. After the room is adequately destroyed, we take the wooden shards, build a campfire and make S’mores. Jack Bruce is driven to insanity by amateur guitarists repeatedly playing the intro to “Sunshine Of Your Love.” Joe Walsh takes five of us to the $10 blackjack table. Walsh is contractually obligated to sing “Life’s Been Good” for the entire duration. Vince Neil leads campers on a raid to reclaim O.J. Simpson’s stolen memorabilia. Slash shaves his head. New Kids on the Block Cause Mayhem at Reunion Announcement It’s been fourteen years since the New Kids on the Block shared a stage, but you wouldn’t know it judging by the crush of fans decked out in NKOTB jean jackets and tour laminates screeching with delight at the Today show plaza this morning. The now-thirtysomething boy band was bombarded by rain-soaked women dressed like teens (many with their actual teenage daughters) as the group announced a new album (due this summer) and a fall tour. “It was music that brought us back [together],” said Donnie Wahlberg, who for the last decade has followed his brother Mark into acting. “We really weren’t going to announce this yet, but a story leaked … and we said we better come out and let [the fans] know that it’s official.” Their 1988 single “You Got It (The Right Stuff)” played as a large red curtain dropped to unveil the five guys to shrieks of “Still hot!” and “We love you, Donnie!” The group will make their first comeback performance in the same spot on May 16th live on Today with what they say will be a set of old and new songs. Although they did not offer specifics on their new sound — the crowd got just a quick sample of new track “Summertime” — they hinted it would be similar to their old tunes “with less ‘oh oh ohs,’ ” said Danny Wood. (Video after the jump) As for the tour? It will be “action-packed,” said Jordan Knight, who saw minor solo success with his 1999 single “Give It to You.” “We got some moves,” Wahlberg reassured the crowd pressed against the barricades, sending them into hysteria with just a wink. “These are the kind of fans we have,” added Joey McIntyre, who spent the last ten years balancing a solo career with Broadway roles. “[They] stand in the cold and rain.” When asked the inevitable question of whether the New Kids have plans to change their name, Woo

Sheryl Crow Adopts, Hives Frontman Works With Raconteurs, Dita Discusses Manson’s Video Sheryl Crow has adopted a baby boy, Us Weekly reports. Crow made the announcement on her web site where she also revealed that she named the baby Wyatt, after her father, and Steven after her “little brother and Scooter.” She added that she and the baby “are enjoying some very private family time.” The Hives are busy dropping hints about their new album. The band’s Myspace page and the diary-like section of their web site indicate that the band is psyched about the new album, which is full of “bitchin’ rock ‘n rollers together” and “crazy dance and hip hop flavoured stuff,” according to guitarist Nicolaus Arson. Meanwhile, lead Hive Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist says that he recently collaborated with the Raconteurs on a song called “Footsteps,” which will appear on the Raconteurs’ new album. [via Pitchfork] Lauryn Hill has announced that in addition to three shows she’s playing in the UK, she will be performing two super-special US dates this summer. Hill will play Oakland on June 27th and Pala, California on June 29th. Meanwhile, rumors are swirling that Conor Oberst and Hill are collaborating (he said it’s true, she has yet to comment). Perhaps the track is for Hill’s new album, reportedly titled Khulami Phase. Dita Von Teese is possibly the coolest woman on the face of the planet. When recently asked about her reaction to soon-to-be ex-husband Marilyn Manson’s new scandalous video, and in particular, about the appearance of his new nineteen-year-old girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood in the clip, Dita said: “I have not seen it. I know a lot of people are shocked by it and think I should be shocked but he has put every one of his girlfriends in his videos so it doesn’t come as any surprise to me. I was in three videos. Rose McGowan was in two videos.” Badass. Live Aid/Live 8 organizer Bob Geldof is cranky about Live Earth, claiming that the en
