OK. I'm not going to write too much here because, come on, it's Del Amitri. Just to say, if you are a Del Amitri fan, you will not be disappointed by this collection of 17 videos. The songs are great, the videos are great, the guys are great. The collection includes all the songs from Hatful Of Rain, except that Stone Cold Sober has been replaced with Just Before You Leave. Definitely a must have for any Del Amitri fan, so what are you waiting for? OK. That's it.
This dvd came out in 2007, and is different enought from their scopophobia dvd/cd released in 2004 that a collector must have this. This dvd features the 12 following tracks:
Teethgrinder, Opal Mantra, Nowhere, Trigger Inside, Die Laughing, Stories, Loose, Diane, Church of Noise, Lonely Cryin Only, Turn, and Screamaer.
A cool bonus feature is Gold Nuggets. This is a feature that when activated has pop up bubble notes appear during the video giving details about the band at that time in their career. Overall about 40 minutes of video.
Why get this instead of just Scopophobia? The Gold video tracks include Opal Mantra, Stories, Church of Noise, and Turn are only on this DVD. Scopophobia only offers 11 video tracks including Nausea, Isolation, and If It Kills Me (from their ark 21 label debut) as altertnatives to the above 4 tracks. It's too bad there is not an uncensored version of the Diane Video on either, but that is likely because A&M didn't make one.
My favorite video is Turn, which if this had been put out prior to Screamager in the USA may have gotten them more of a Metal following rather than a pop/grunge following. Overall, really cool DVD, a must have for Therapy? fans worldwide.
Any Mission fan will love this however, Butterfly is actually missing the first verse and chorus! [seriously, the master was edited to fade from black into the middle of the video] obviously someone at Universal seriously mucked this up.
Apart from that it's brilliant and the best copies [quality wise] of these videos I've ever seen.
Also, deliverance is edited to begin at the "fast" part [without the intro] but this is probably just the single version and not an obvious mistake like the butchered butterfly.
The Golden Nuggets are little factoids [any fan would already know] running during the videos and easily can be turned off.
Probably should just wait for the Sum & Substance DVD due out soon. :) UPDATE: The Sum & Substance video is better by having more videos, however, the overall picture quality is not nearly as clear - looks almost as if it were mastered from the VHS.
