A trio of festivals bolstered their lineups today: the nomadic Lilith Fest added Kelly Clarkson, the Bangles, the Go-Go’s and many more to its already stocked lineup. The Disco Biscuits’ 9th annual Camp Bisco, taking place July 15-17 in Mariaville, New York, recruited LCD Soundsystem, Thievery Corporation and Ween for this year’s fest. Langerado Festival Canceled Due To Sluggish Ticket Sales

Photo: Kravitz/FilmMagic This year’s Langerado Festival in Miami, Florida, has been canceled, the fest’s organizers revealed today in a statement. The seventh annual Langerado, scheduled for March 6-8th at Miami’s Bicentennial Park, was set to feature performances by Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse, Ryan Adams, Snoop Dogg, Deerhunter, Thievery Corporation and many more. “Sluggish ticket sales” were the reason for the cancellation according to the festival’s Website, as “Langerado’s independent local promoters, faced with a very tough decision in a dismal economy, canceled the 2009 event only after every possible option was exhausted.” “Unfortunately, during these difficult economic times, and facing a first year in a new venue, it’s become apparent that we cannot execute a production that lives up to the high standards of our past events,” Langerado Co-Promoter Ethan Schwartz said. “Putting Langerado on hold was the toughest decision we have ever had to make. We are very grateful for the support of the greater-Miami community and the music community during this difficult time.” All tickets purchased for the event will be refunded. It seems like all facets of the music industry, from album sales to ticket sales to merchandising, is bracing for or is already feeling the inevitable effects of the recession. Sadly, Langerado is one of the first of many festivals that will either be canceled or postponed due to the current economy. British Columbia’s Pemberton Festival also announced plans to take 2009 off to focus on their 2010 fest. Lil Wayne, Death Cab For Cutie Highlight Full Voodoo Festival Lineup

New Orleans’ Voodoo Festival, set to hit the Big Easy October 24-26, has revealed its full performer line-up. In addition to the headliners R.E.M., Nine Inch Nails and Stone Temple Pilots, Death Cab for Cutie, Panic at the Disco, Erykah Badu and N’Awlins prodigal son Lil Waynein will play in the more mainstream Le Ritual section of the festival. Much like the city itself, the Voodoo Festival is split into three distinct sections. The Le Flambeau area will feature music more in tune with the hometown sounds of New Orleans with sets by Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, the Blind Boys of Alabama, Dirty Dozen Brass Band and the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra. The third section, Le Carnival, will feature a bunch of Big Easy indie bands, burlesque shows and circus acts. It’s like a three-day Mardi Gras over in that Le Carnival section. New Rothbury Festival to Hit U.S. in July: Matthews, Mayer, Snoop, Modest Mouse

A new, environmentally conscious music festival is about to hit the ever-growing U.S. market July 4th weekend: AEG Live (the folks behind Coachella) and Madison House Presents are introducing the Rothbury Festival, to be held in Rothbury, Michigan on July 3rd through 6th at the idyllic Double JJ Ranch near Lake Michigan. Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Widespread Panic, Phil Lesh & Friends, Modest Mouse, 311 and Snoop Dogg are among the many confirmed acts, and organizers say the festival’s goal is to draw attention to climate change and clean energy alternatives. To wit, the weekend will feature a think tank featuring panel discussions on those climate concerns, an energy fair where attendees can get their hands on related technology and products, and the festivals’ campgrounds will strive for a zero-waste experience via composting, carbon-offsetting and more strategies (alternative lodging will also be available for festival-goers who don’t want to pitch a tent).
