Allman Brothers Reveal Wanee Festival DetailsPhoto: Ufberg/WireImage As they’ve done since 2005, the Allman Brothers Band will headline two nights at the fifth annual Wanee Music Festival in Live Oak, Florida, on June 5 and 6th. This year’s Wanee fest is especially noteworthy as it coincides with the band’s yearlong 40th anniversary extravaganza, which includes a 15-night run at New York’s Beacon Theatre. Helping the Eat A Peach rockers celebrate at Wanee are Gov’t Mule, the Doobie Brothers, Toots and the Maytals, the Drive-By Truckers and many more jam-happy artists spread over the fest’s two days. Plus, the Derek Trucks Band will perform a special midnight set on Friday night and the Wailers will perform Exodus in its entirety. Tickets go on sale March 7th. The Roots, Ziggy Marley, Menudo To Honor Earth Day and Certain Green Plants Eight U.S. cities will host festivals on April 20th to honor Earth Day. The Green Apple Festival and Earth Day Network will stage the events, which will feature performances by the Roots, Gov’t Mule, Mickey Hart’s Mass Drums, Ziggy Marley and other jam-happy acts spread over the eight cities. Hmm, a bunch of jam bands playing ecologically friendly venues to hippie crowds on April 20th? Sounds like the concertgoers will be celebrating something other than Earth Day. It’s not all thirty-minute guitar solos, however: Arrested Development and Menudo will headline the Miami show, while the Chicago event at the Lincoln Park Zoo boasts a special emcee appearance by Chicago Bears backup quarterback Kyle Orton. And don’t even get us started on the prospect of Big Head Todd & the Monsters rocking NY’s Central Park. To get the full break down of who’s playing where, follow the jump. 2008 Earth Day Network/Green Apple Festival Free Line-up NEW YORK Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder Big Head Todd and the Monsters Vusi Mahlasela Vienna Teng WASHINGTON, DC The Roots & Friends Gov’t Mule Toots and the Maytals Thievery Corp - DJ set Warren Haynes - solo acoustic set Umphreys McGee DC Boys Choir City Dance CHICAGO Derek Trucks Band Dirty Dozen Brass Band Meshell Ndegeocello Chicago Afrobeat Orchestra Miss Lori Holton Nash The Gwalla Gwallas Event MC- Kyle Orton - Chicago Bears MIAMI Menudo Arrested Development Baby Loves Salsa Caravan of Thieves DALLAS Los Lonely Boys Martin Sexton Junior Brown Cas Haley The Steps George Stanford DENVER The Neville Brothers The Benevento/Russo Duo Rose Hill Drive SAN FRANCISCO Mickey Hart’s Mass Drums Yonder Mountain String Band Brett Dennen LOS ANGELES Taj Mahal Ziggy Marley solo acoustic Juliette and the Licks School of Rock Hollywood Allstars The Frequency Coby Brown [Photo: Getty]

Wilco Add Spring ‘08 Tour Dates, Rolling Stones Make Solo News, Bonnaroo Date Confirmed Having already pledged his allegiance to Barack Obama, Jeff Tweedy will rejoin his Wilco mates for a two-week tour of the States in February/March 2008. The band will play Cleveland, Philadelphia and New Haven, CT before heading down for a week in the southern states. Check the full dates after the jump. Two long-unreleased Keith Richards songs will finally hit eardrums on December 11th when iTunes makes available Richards’ versions of Chuck Berry’s “Run Rudolph Run,” originally recorded in 1979, and a cover of Toots & the Maytals’ “Pressure Drop” from 2003. iTunes is also in talks to acquire Radiohead’s In Rainbows, a move that would be a thaw in the icy relationship between the band and the music service (Radiohead refuse to sell their songs individually). In other Rolling Stones news, Ronnie Wood is looking to collaborate with South Carolina’s Band of Horses after hearing the band perform on Jools Holland. Band of Horses also perform Wood’s “Act Together” in concert. The seventh annual Bonnaroo festival will place on June 12th to 15th, 2008, in Manchester, Tennessee. Whether or not Led Zeppelin and Metallica will be performing remains unknown — but unlikely. Is Jay-Z on his way out of his CEO seat at Def Jam? According to reports, with Jigga’s contract expiring at the end of the month, the rapper demanded more money than Universal Music was willing to offer, given the current climate in the music industry. Wilco Tour Dates: February 22 Cleveland, OH - Lakewood Civic Auditorium February 23 Philadelphia, PA - Tower Theatre February 24 New Haven, CT - Schubert Theater March 2 Nashville, TN - Ryman Auditorium March 3 Mobile, AL - Mobile Civic Center March 4 New Orleans, LA - Tipitina’s March 5 New Orleans, LA - Tipitina’s March 7 Houston, TX - Verizon Theater March 8 Tulsa, OK - Cain’s Ballroom March 9 Des Moines, IA - Val Air Ballroom
