Trin-i-tee 5:7

Trin-i-tee 5:7 Album: “Trin-i-tee 5:7”

Trin-i-tee 5:7 Album: “Trin-i-tee 5:7”
Description :
Trin-i-tee 5:7: Chanelle Hayes, Terri Brown, Angel Taylor.
Additional personnel includes: Gregg Landfair, Paul Jackson Jr. (guitar); Jeremy Lubbock (strings); Percy Bady (keyboards, programming); Kevin Bond (keyboards); Nel Gray (bass); Jeremy Haynes (drums); R. Kelly, Big Yam, Victor Merritt, Buster & Shavoni, Percy Bady, Soulshock & Karlin (programming).
Producers include: R. Kelly, A-Tone, Stan Scates, Big Yam, Victor Merritt.
Engineers include: Stan Scates, Chris Brickley, Stephen George, Victor Merritt, Mark Williams.
Three stylish, powerful-voiced young women have come together to make up Trin-i-tee 5:7. Their debut album promises to change most listeners' view of Gospel. Those unfamiliar with the genre think of it as church music. But with the success of Kirk Franklin and God's Property, the door has been swung wide open for Gospel music to make its way onto the airwaves. The tracks on this album are laced with a street edge and familiar R&B textures.
The beautiful vocal harmonies and lyrical content are rooted in the church, but possess a modern, hip vibe. The girls, Chanelle Haynes, Angel Taylor and Terri Brown, use their stage to make their values and beliefs known, without proselytizing. They even dabble in hip-hop on some songs ("You Can Always Call His Name.") The impressive thing about this album is that the combination of street R&B and Gospel lyrics wins you over from the first listen. Among the producers and writers working with the girls are R. Kelly ("God's Grace,") Kirk Franklin ("God's Blessing") and Kevin Bond ("Oh Mary, Don't You Weep.")

- Actually, I Think Their Second Project Was Better.

I try to make it a habit normally of listening to the first material first (or a greatest hits collection) of an artist. I listened to Trin-I-Tee 5:7's second project, "Spiritual Love", first. If I listened to this first, I may never have tried "Spiritual Love".

This was good quality, but I think a true R&B fan would like this better. To me, the songs sounded a little more alike.

Please don't be scared off with my review of this project; you may enjoy it better than I did. And especially DON'T AVOID THIS GROUP BECAUSE OF THIS ONE REVIEW! This group clearly loves the Lord Jesus Christ and is dedicated to serving Him.

I did like some of the songs from the project, which stood out a little more. The first was the excellent "I Won't Turn Back", an aca pella promise of a great project. I also liked "God's Blessing", "Sunshine", and "Holy And Righteous".

- Great vibe, great album!

I love this album a whole lot. Personally, I think that the original 3 of this group were the best. I still miss Terri and hope that she will come out with something of her own. She seemed to be very spiritually settled and was the backbone of the group.

At any rate, I think it's unique to have all three girls with 3 different voice types. You have Angel who sings soprano, Terri sings alto, and Chanelle sings tenor. That's very interesting.

My favorite songs are God's Grace, God's Blessing, Holy and Righteous, and Mary Don't You Weep.

It's a shame these three couldn't make another album together.

- Great beat with a good message

Trin-i-tee is great. The songs really hit home. They have a great beat and the artists are great singers. Definitely one of the best in Christian music. My two favorite songs on this CD are Call His Name and Pray for a While
