 Twarres is a folk/pop band from Wergea, the Netherlands who perform songs in both English and their native Frisian Language. Their songs are primarily lush, harmonic vocal pop with a focus on acoustic instrumentation such as pianos and violins. The band was originally founded in 1998. Original main band members: - Johan van der Veen (1981) - vocals - Mirjam Timmer (1982) - vocals and guitar In December 2003, Johan left the music business. Mirjam decided to start a career as a solo singer as MIR. In 2007 Johan and Mirjam wanted to reunite, but Johan got a muscle disease so he wasn't able to perform. He was temporarily replaced by Auke Busman on vocals and guitar).
