Twisted Sister Album: “You Can't Stop Rock 'N' Roll (Atlantic)”
Description :
Twisted Sister: Dee Snider (vocals); Jay Jay French, Eddie "Fingers" Ojeda (guitar, background vocals); Mark "The Animal" Mendoza (bass, background vocals); A.J. Pero (drums, background vocals).

Recorded at The Sol Studio, Bershire, England.

Although New York's Twisted Sister wore makeup and stage costumes, the group was completely unlike other glam-metal bands of the early '80s. The group's 1983 major-label debut, YOU CAN'T STOP ROCK N' ROLL, is more akin musically to such harder-edged metal outfits as Motorhead and Metallica, while on stage, the band adopted a more freakish persona (while bands like Motley Crue did the opposite). Twisted Sister's U.S. debut wasn't the commercial breakthrough that its next release was (1984's hit STAY HUNGRY), but it did the job of introducing the band to the rest of America and solidified the band's standing in the U.K. (where Twisted Sister had already released an independent record).

Highlights on this album include the title track, which would become a band staple, and the album-opening "The Kids Are Back." The Spitfire reissue also tacks on three previousy unreleased tracks to sweeten the pot, but regardless, Twisted Sister sounds both heavy and inspired throughout YOU CAN'T STOP ROCK N' ROLL.

- Classic release with the worst remastering
While this release is an all-time Classic, the "Remastered" version is not recommended for those Twisted Sister Die-hard fans who want to listen to the real power of this band.
It's really sad how an excellent release is made crap due to a bad remastering work.
Don't know what kind of "sound" engineers released this new version but they just made it sound horrible.
So if you can get the old version (which has a better sound quality) just get it. Don't buy this SPITEFIRE version.

- Finally, a good remaster of a classic metal album
After the first run of sub-par remasters of the Twisted Sister catalog, the good folks at Jedma have finally released a proper set of remastered Twisted Sister albums. I found out that these were issued earlier this year after getting the Under The Blade reissue, and checking these out I found out that they were finally mastered properly. The first set of remasters were just awful sounding, blantant vinyl rips with lop-sided mastering. This new remaster correctly balances out all instruments and giving it a definitive sound. The production isn't that good to begin with though, but it does sound alot better than any other CD version of this album. There are some glitches I found on 'We're Gonna Make It' and the title track, but there not so bad to totally ruin the listening experience. Like the '99 remaster, it include 3 bonus tracks, all great songs to an already classic album. This is an essential purchase for any old SMF or new fan, you will not be dissapointed.

- Old School At It's Best
Raw but intense! Twisted Sister is an incredible band... The tracks on this album are just as I remembered, but I haven't heard them in years. I Am, I'm Me is about my favorite song on this project. It's flat out HEAVY with balls!!!! Every metal lover should get this and play it loud!!! Do neck exercises before you headbang... You WILL be sore!

- You Can't Stop Rock n' Roll
I picked up YCSRnR just after getting Stay Hungry 20 years ago..1984, which basically introduced me to the Twisted World of The Sister ! They still rate as one of my all-time fav bands!
And although Stay Hungry deserves all the success and attention it gets, I'd have to say that somehow I think thier previous effort 'You Can't Stop Rock n' Roll' is even better, it's strange but true...
Included on the Remastered Cd you'll find three extra tracks that any serious TS fan will enjoy but don't stand along the classic yet underated tracks that are included on YCSRR...My favs other than the 3 which are on 'Big Hits' are 'Like A Knife in the Back, We're Gonna Make It & You're Not Alone'
Highly reccommended Cd for any TRUE SMF out there and I know you won't be dissappointed.
Feel the Power of TS

- A Classic Heavy Metal Record
If you have good ears for listening good songs, you must taste the best Twisted Sister's album. Dee Snider is angry - "Those fools are gonna know that we ain't bluffing". Like a Knife in the Back is one of the most perfect Heavy Metal songs, combining melody, phrases and a strong beat. If you're going put your car on the road, don't forget to listen Ride to Live, but take care about the speed... You Can't Stop Rock'n Roll - the song - says everything that a real band, as Twisted Sister, means to us, rock'n roll lovers. It is an album to listen as louder as you (and your neighbourhood)can support.
