Rock List: Twenty Songs That Make You Want To Commit Violent Acts Rock Daily’s Weekend Rock List asked everyone to spend the past few days pondering songs you once really enjoyed, then tolerated and now make you want to hurt people. We combined your suggestions — which hopefully haven’t resulted in any actual personal-injury lawsuits — with ours and came up with this list of the top twenty songs that make you want to get violent: 1. “You’re Beautiful,” James Blunt 2. “My Humps,” Black Eyed Peas 3. “All Star,” Smash Mouth 4. “Don’t Worry Be Happy,” Bobby McFerrin 5. “YMCA,” Village People 6. “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” Deep Blue Something 7. “With Arms Wide Open,” Creed 8. “I Will Walk 500 Miles,” The Proclaimers 9. “Zombie,” Cranberries 10. “Your Body Is a Wonderland,” John Mayer 11. “Hey Ya,” OutKast 12. “Torn,” Natalie Imbruglia 13. “Yellow,” Coldplay 14. “Truly, Madly, Deeply,” Savage Garden 15. “Wannabe,” Spice Girls 16. “Hot In Herre,” Nelly 17. “You’re Still the One,” Shania Twain 18. “Fast Cars,” Tracy Chapman 19. “This Kiss,” Faith Hill 20. “Two Princes,” Spin Doctors Photo: Getty

The Real Jailhouse Rock: Why the Prisoners Dance to “Thriller” American prisoners lift weights in jail. Filipino inmates re-create the choreography from the most definitive music video in history. Why? “Inmates say to me: ‘You have put my mind off revenge, foolishness, or thinking how to escape from jail, or joining a gang,’” says Byron Garcia, a government security consultant in the Phillipines. Garcia explains that dancing is mandatory for all inmates (except the ill or elderly) at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabiliation Center. Garcia initially had inmates marching along to “Another Brick in the Wall,” then required them to groove to the Village People’s “YMCA” and “In the Navy” before moving on to songs from films like Sister Act and a Queen track. Inmates apparently inquire how many YouTube hits their clips have earned (1.3 million for the “Thriller” video so far), and say the dancing is theraputic. Hopefully nobody reenacts Oz plots when they find out what’s up next: “Ice, Ice Baby.”

How A Toilet Can Be A Crap Museum For Your InstallationsHANK Robar, of Potsdam, has removed two broken toilets from the property he owns on Market Street. And that is good. Now seven remain. Says Mr Robar: “It’s different. It’s art. People look at it.” Old Mr Anorak agrees. Art becomes art when people look at it. For such reasons he keeps Anorak’s Vomit In Sock installation hanging from a peg by his backdoor. And the Back Of His Hand has been designated as a gift to the nation. But Robar is making a point about laws and Dunkin Donuts. Two years ago, Robar wanted the property rezoned from residential to commercial so it could be used for a convenience store or fast food outlet. But village officials refused and his plans went down the toilet. “Dunkin Donuts offered to buy it. They wouldn’t give me a special use permit for it,” said Robar. So the matter will go to the law. And in the meantime, if you are caught shot in Potsdam, do as Marcel Duchamp did and tell ‘em its art…
