Since this a two disc set, I'll divide my review into two sections:
W.A.S.P.:
This is a very strong start for the band. "I Wanna Be Somebody" is the first track and grabs you by the throat. Another great highlight is "School Daze." Anyone who spent time in a public school system can relate to it. "L.O.V.E. Machine"
is another great classic. It's very catchy. All the other songs are great, but don't seem to be much different lyrically from other 80's metal bands witht he exception of the last two tracks. "Tormentor" is catchy, but not really that good. "The Torture Never Stops" is a great closer.
The Last Command:
It's a great follow up. In fact, W.A.S.P. takes it up a notch with songs like "Ballcrusher" and "Sex Drive." You'll also find great ones like "Blind in Texas," "The Last Command,"
and "Running Wild In the Streets." Those three manage to catch the power and attitude of the band while at the same time remaing air play friendly.
Overall, it's really a good way to introduce yourself to W.A.S.P.
Go for it!
i bought this cd b/c it was a better deal then to buy wasp's first cd by its self.wasp's self titled cd is KILLER!!!! last command i didn't care much for
This is a great double disc set. You get the first two WASP albums at a great price. Both the self titled debut, and The Last Command should be in your metal collection. While both of these albums are not quite as good as The Headless Children, they are still fantastic. I definitely give this set 5 stars.
Blackie in the boys at their best. Rocks balls. 2 for the price of 1. 'nuff said.
Buy it now!
I was looking for their greatest hits or both albums on cd. Some sellers wanted more for one than you can get this set for. This is the way to go if you plan on getting both.
