Never one to bow down to anyone, W.A.S.P. has been on a tear since the hey-days of metal!!! This continues with their release of Unholy Terror! I for one who own many WASP albums am never let down! Maybe not their best, but this album is right up there!
1. Let It Roar - A kicking song to open the album! A true rocker tune that will leave you pumped and ready to complete any task you have to do. A great song to lift weights to as well!!! Vocals are tight and the guitar work is flawless as usual!! 5/5
2. Hate To Love Me - This song, while good, can become repetitive very quickly. Although very heavy, and although Blackie continues roaring his vocals, there is something about this track that doesn't sit well. Very basic track that doesn't branch out much at all. Perhaps the saving grace for the track is the guitar solo. 3/5
3. Locomotive Man - This song kicks in seemingly right where "Let It Roar" left off! Another killer track that has you jamming along from start to finish! Starts dark like "Headless Children" era, then kicks right into where they are now! Love it! 5/5
4. Unholy Terror - Not a song at all (though it leads into a great one). This track is mainly Blackie giving a dark speech, like he is a man possessed. "A crowned Messiah, crucified...but still you don't believe...I am Kings, I am Queens...Unholy Terror is me!!!" Great dark filler track! 4/5
5. Charisma - Fresh off the heels of "Unholy Terror" this song comes in and blows the rest of the album away! Dark tune, (yet hauntingly up-beat). Shows where Blackie was heading for the Neon God albums! Great song, catchy vocals, creepy concept! 5/5
6. Who Slayed Baby Jane? - This is another great song. The only problem is, it doesn't branch out at all to new territory. Its almost as if they found a formula and have stuck with it sll these years. A great (but basic) WASP tune. 3.5/5
7. Euphoria - An instrumental filler! Albeit a good filler at that, but for an album with only 10 tracks, is there need for a filler. I liked the tune and I am sad to see that it has not been made into its own song! Very remeniscant of "Forever Free." Maybe someday they'll revisit and re-create! 3.5/5
8. Raven Heart - Back to the heavy stuff! A great song to get the listener back into the rocking groove after the calm "Euphoria." Again, a listener can see future style for the Neon God series here; as well as styles much like "Crimson Idol" era. Great song! 5/5
9. Evermore - Perhaps continuing with the "Raven" theme "Evermore" is slower at first, than picks up near the end. Again, sounds like a "Forever Free" type song, then turns and throws the listener for a loop. Good song. 4/5
10. Wasted White Boys - A heavy opening song that is the true WASP way to end an album. Again, they fall back into their basic formula for song writing! Good rocking song, but really, nothing new. 3/5
Overall 4.5/5
Best tracks: "Let It Roar" "Charisma" "Raven Heart"
