Blimey, that’s quite a makeover!

Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty should pay close attention to this picture. This is Keane frontman Tom Chaplin looking, well, almost attractive at The Q Awards last night after a successful stint in rehab. Tom checked himself into The Priory a year or so ago due to problems with cocaine and alcohol (apparently port was his tipple of choice!) and, well, it looks like it worked. We barely recognised him in this photo – quite a transformation, isn’t it? He wouldn’t look out of place in Westlife!

Who’s going thin on top?

It’s lucky this particular fellow is stinking rich, because if the situation on top of his head gets any worse, he’s going to want to buy a lot of hats. This is Kian Egan from Westlife who, at 27, is going alarmingly thin on top. His floppy blonde look might have been cute once, but now it’s teetering dangerously close to looking like a rather bad combover. In fact, it might be time to go for the Jude Law option and shave the whole lot off…

Those notoriously shy Westlife boys have decided to reveal all for a new book about their private and personal lives. The biography, Westlife – Our Story (out 16 June, from HarperCollins, priced £18.99), sees the boys talking intimately about everything from the squllions of Number-One singles that they’ve sold to their partners and babies (aww). Best of all, they’ve decided to share photos from their private albums, which include some hunky tops-off shots and adorable family photos. We’ve managed to get out hands on Mark and Shane’s personal albums to share with you, makes for pleasant viewing, don’t ya think?

You’ll NEVER guess who paid their hairdresser £100,000 a year!

If we paid £100,000 a year for haircuts, we’d expect our tresses to be made of rare diamonds, caviar and champagne (although that might look a bit weird) – but that’s how much Brian McFadden paid for his bog-standard boyband hair when he got his first solo deal. Brian was so pissed off with the way his record company treated him when he was in Westlife, that he decided to blow their money on all kinds of unnecessary luxuries. “You do start to believe your own hype,” he says. “I was very arrogant. And because of the money they spent and the deal I got there was not enough for them to make a profit. I could have not taken the piss with my deal and sold 800,000 albums and everyone would have money. But I had to be an idiot. I had to have first-class flights for me and my team that I didn't need, but I wanted to take advantage for the things they'd done in the past. I even had a hairdresser on a retainer of £100,000 a year. It was ridiculous.” We’re glad Brian realises the error of his ways now, but there’s an evil little part of us that’s very pleased that some random hairdresser ended up richer than him…

Ooh! Your big childhood crushes are STILL hot!

Before Westlife, before Boyzone and even before ye olde Take That, we had New Kids On The Block (not “had” in the sexual sense – oh, if only…) – and now they’re officially back! This picture has just been released to mark their comeback and we have to say, we’re pretty impressed with how they’ve turned out. Those suits are a hell of lot more becoming than the late 80s/early 90s monstrosities that they used to hang tough in – and Joey and Jordan are still worthy of a really rude dream about, like, holding hands and kissing and stuff. In fact, all of them are looking pretty fine, aren’t they? Wonder if we can persuade them to take their shirts off…

Just look at Brian's SCARY makeover...

As if we needed a reminder of why we hate clowns... We haven't seen much of Brian McFadden since he buggered off to Australia with Delta Goodrem, and when we think of him, we always picture him in one of his Westlife suits. All that is going to change now that we've seen this. The video is for Brian's latest single Twisted, which is only being realised down under, but we just HAD to share it with you. We're not whether it's the slightly trippy camera movements, the scary clown-from-Clockwork-Orange make-up Brian's wearing or the wailing woman singing in the background, but this video makes us feel a little bit uneasy. Brian sings about his "twisted" life, while cruising around town in a car with three other scary clown-types. It's a world away from his crooning days as part of Westlife, but we're not convinced it's going to be as successful. Have a little watch then come back and tell us what you think about Brian's clowning around.

Is this the scariest tattoo ever?

Now, heatworld's done some crazy things in our time. There was the time we tried to drink our contact lens solution. And let's not even mention the thing that happened that night in Grimsby in 2004. But one thing we’ve always been pretty certain that we wouldn’t do is get the faces of four Irish men – and their signatures – tattooed on our backs. But each to their own, eh? Because a lady called Vicky Jones has just had a massive Westlife tattoo done, so the faces of Nicky, Kian, Shane and Mark will gaze out from her shoulder blades forever. Vicky, a massive Westlife fan – if that isn’t the most obvious thing heatworld has ever written – spent 16 HOURS having the tattoo etched on her back for her 40th birthday and spends £4,000 on the band each year. Wonder what the boys make of it?

Westlife's Shane Filan Welcomes Son Patrick Michael

FilmMagic Singer Shane Filan, from the Irish group Westlife, and his wife Gillian welcomed their second child earlier today, Tuesday, September 16th. After Gillian was "rushed to the hospital," she was in labor for three and a half hours when Patrick Michael made his big debut at 3:40 a.m. weighing in at 6 lbs, 8 oz. Opting for a vaginal delivery, Gillian "didn't even have much pain relief" according to Shane, who added that he was simply "in awe of her." While the couple chose not to find out the sex of the baby, the 29-year-old -- who admits his wife knew all along that it was a boy -- was pleasantly surprised to welcome his first son after being "sure it was going to be a girl." As the proud papa is "walking on air," he reveals that he is "very tired, but completely overjoyed" and couldn't wait to introduce baby Patrick to his big sister Nicole, 3. Says Shane,"It's going to be a great moment to see her meeting her little bro for the first time. She knew there was a baby coming, but I think the reality will really hit her now."Shane and Gillian were married in December 2003. They had announced the pregnancy back in March.
