well then you may be in wheatus.

It’s a special time for music; not too much of it sticks and when it does well, it usually isn’t everyone’s cuppa.

“…we really don’t run into people who don’t like dirtbag, including us.”, wheatus frontman, producer, songwriter brendan b brown tells us, whilst fiddling with a vacuum tube that reads “Made In West Germany”. It seems that wheatus do indeed still love playing their multi-platinum, ubiquitous 2001 classic, Teenage Dirtbag.

Schaffer the Darklord (or STD) is a New York City-based rapper and comedian with material best-suited for brainy and/or drug-addled audiences. With manic energy, verbose vocabulary and cartoonishly commanding stage presence, STD skewers such topics as hedonistic substance abuse, sexual compulsion, gender identity, urban anxiety and obsessive cat-enthusiasts.

Hand Job Academy or H.J.A. for short, is a Brooklyn-based hip-hop group formed in 2012, comprising three emcees: AshWednesday, Clara Bizna$$, and Uncle Meg (who doubles as the group’s videographer, Director, & Editor).

Northern California rapper, MC Lars, is set to release his 4th full-length studio album, the Zombie Dinosaur LP, at the end of this coming summer. He has returned home to the Bay Area after living in Los Angeles these past three years, and is self-producing his new album with help from friends in Berkeley and San Francisco.

We always have a good time with Wheatus and that's why we're pleased to welcome them back to New Old Slang on the 15th anniversary tour for their debut, self-titled, album. The pop-rockers will play the whole of the album, which includes the likes of Teenage Dirtbag, A Little Respect and Wannabe Gangstar and will, of course, play loads of others too!

Support comes from brilliant American singer/songwriter Mike Doughty, the founding member of cult 90's indie-rock band Soul Coughing

Afterwards, in the main room, we dance to indie hits from The Wombats, Hot Chip, Everything Everything, The Vaccines and many more whilst Old Slang DJs take us on a trip down memory lane with classic indie and britpop hits in Room 2 until 2AM

WHEATUS, PLAYING DEBUT ALBUM IN FULL + MORE!

Wheatus' debut single 'Teenage Dirtbag' cracked the Top 40 BBC Official Sales Chart for a second time in March of 2011, TEN YEARS after it's debut at #2 on the same chart. To say that Wheatus have been through the wringer in the decade between is the original understatement. Lawsuits, lineup changes, interstate art heist investigations (yes, really), betrayals, intellectual property theft, physical violence, post traumatic front man Brendan B Brown could write a book.

To date their first record has sold more than 5 million copies world wide. Any manager or record label would be happy to tout those stats to the press but Wheatus have remained unsigned & unmanaged for the last 8 years. Unlike many of their peers from the early oughts, Wheatus continue to write, record, and tour 15 years after their inception, having taken control of their revenue stream with the home made, "pick-your-price" download system fans can use at Wheatus.com. They have released 5 studio albums since 2000 and are currently in preproduction for album 6.
