Oasis & Ryan Adams Preview Upcoming Albums in VancouverPhotograph by Jackie Butler for RollingStone.Com The once scarily prolific Ryan Adams hasn’t put an album out in a while, but that didn’t stop him and his band the Cardinals from hitting the road with Oasis or from presenting a stirring set in Vancouver’s huge GM Place. Adams stuck mostly to songs from 2005’s Cold Roses and points forward, including a handful of new tunes that resulted in lengthy jams with his air-tight band. Liam Gallagher watched “Everybody Knows” and “Off Broadway” from the side of the stage and Adams mentioned that coming up after him was “one of the best bands in the world.” The best? Fellow Mancunians the Smiths, he said. “They must put something in the water there,” he said, before exiting on “Easy Plateau.” • Photo Gallery: Oasis Live at the WaMu Theater in Seattle Oasis took the stage with their trademark swagger, blurring the line between cockiness and contempt. The band dropped in a healthy dose of Definitely Maybe in between the more recent (but less infectious) singles like “Songbird” and “Lyla.” When the hit list arrived (with the buzzsaw that is “Morning Glory”), Noel taunted the audience with, “That was what you wanted, right?” For the remainder, they balanced old sing-alongs with new tracks from the upcoming Dig Out Your Soul, which were hungrily absorbed if not totally accepted. After spitting “Wonderwall,” Noel cautioned the next was their last (he lied; they returned with “Champagne Supernova” and “I Am the Walrus”). When the crowd booed Oasis’ departure, Liam snarled, “Don’t you fucking boo” as he exited with the same swagger. Winehouse’s Shocking Antics, Jay-Z’s Oasis Cover Highlight Glastonbury Amy Winehouse was the star of this weekend’s Glastonbury festival, and it wasn’t because of anything she did on stage. After getting lowered down into the security pit between the crowd and the stage for a more intimate performance of “Mr. Jones” and “Rehab,” video shows the singer punched a man in the front of the crowd before being swarmed by security guards. Following Winehouse’s set, it was revealed that the man actually groped Winehouse while she performed close to the crowd, resulting in Winehouse’s swift right hook. No charges will be pressed against the singer. Winehouse also lost a fan in Kanye West after calling the rapper a “cunt.” After praising Jay-Z, who headlined the fest, Winehouse said “Imagine if it was a cunt like Kanye West. ‘Cunts like Kanye.’ That should be his next album title.” Kanye responded quickly via his blog, referring to the singer as “Whinehouse.” Speaking of Jay-Z, in an obvious response to Oasis’ Noel Gallagher’s comments questioning the rapper’s presence at a “rock festival,” Hova took to the stage with a guitar strapped around his chest and led the crowd in a sing-along version of the Oasis’ “Wonderwall” before launching into “99 Problems” and a hits-filled set. 英그룹 오아시스가 좋아하는 그룹 톱 10은[마이데일리 = 박영웅 기자] 영국의 세계적 록그룹 오아시스가 좋아하는 선배 록그룹은 누구일까?
현재 미국 투어 공연중인 오아시스가 자신들이 가장 좋아하는 록 그룹 톱 10을 뽑아, '록그룹이 좋아하는 록그룹'을 알아볼 수 있다는 점에서 록팬들의 관심을 모은다.
그룹의 리더 노엘 갤러거는 동생 리암 갤러거와 함께 자신들의 블로거에 톱 10을 발표했다. 1위는 역시 동향 영국 출신인 비틀즈. 2위는 '굿 보이' 비틀즈와 반대 이미지의 '배드 보이'로 현재까지 활동하고 있는 믹 재거의 英 그룹 롤링 스톤즈.
톱 10중 8위 비지스가 단연 눈길을 끈다. 비지스는 이들과는 음악류가 다른 디스코이기 깨문. 1970년대 발라드록을 주로 했던 비지스는 1970년 말부터 리더 배리 깁을 위주로 디스코 음악을 만들어 세계적인 붐을 일으켰다.
갤러거 형제는 "투어도중 분장실이나 대기실에서 우린 끊임없이 이 흥미로운 토론을 계속했다"며 "1000 번을 생각하고 고민했지만, 그때마다 좋아하는 그룹을 뽑는게 흥미로웠다"고 밝혔다.
그룹 오아시스는 1990년대 '원더월(Wonderwall)' '돈 룩 백 인 앵거(Don't Look Back In Anger)'를 히트시킨 영국의 록그룹으로 현재 활발히 활동중인 그룹중 최고로도 꼽힌다.
