- Dark, disturbing, death metal
This cd is less melodic than Slaughter Of The Soul, and a lot harder to get into. The over all tone is very very dark and moody. Thomas' voice is extremely tortured sounding and it's almost scary to hear this, how someone can sing like this i will never know. They are melodic with out being too melodic, heavy without being too heavy. They find just the right spot in the music and they amazingly keep it there for the whole album. The only problem with this album is the sound quality...i got the remastered version and it still sounds like S***.
all in all, this is essential if you like death metal, brutal or melodic. Also get Slaughter Of The Soul.

- another classic
This is not the best ATG album in my oppinion. Many think that this is the greatest atg album of them all. It's a lot more "blurry" than Red in the sky... The sound is good but rougher than last time. Thomas sounds a little different, still pissed like hell! Even if the philosophic sense is present, this sounds more like a angry roar from the first to the last second. This is a true classic just like the rest of them. Some songs are a little to muddy and it is sometimes hard to seperate the instruments from oneanother. At The Gates has a new style every new release and this was the 93'model. Not much more to be said. Everyone should get a copy of this brilliant work of art.
- At the Gates Rules
Yet another fantastic addition to At the Gates library of brutality. A must have for any metal fan!

- the burning darkness
To be honest this was probably my least favorite At the Gates cd when I first heard it, but I think it's my favorite now. With songs like "raped by the light of christ" and "the burning darkness" this is genuine classic death metal. The lyrics in a number of their songs are clearly inspired by the occult, probably the necronomicon. The guitar parts aren't very technical, but their catchy. Sort of like how old deicide was. I definately recommend this cd! HAIL SATAN!!!!!
