Creed Album: “Weathered”

This was a very good 3rd album released by Creed. I was just introduced to Creed's music a few months ago and i absolutely fell in love with their music.

"Weathered" starts out fast and gets progressively slower throughout the CD, and then lets you go with "lullaby", and the songs were very well done.

Good job again Creed. I strongly recommend this CD, go out and get it if you havn't yet!!

The person before me has got it all wrong...Creed gets no props at all!

1.Bullets - The hardest song ever put out by Creed. Has a great sound and it gives a good feeling for the rest of the album. 4.6/5

2.Freedom Fighter - A great hard tune with nice guitars and kind of melodic.4.2/5

3.Who's Got My Back? - Weird but nice and hard at around 4 Min into the song...oh yeah...its 8 min long.4.3/5

4.Signs - My least favorite song but I still think its a nice one espically toward the middle-end of it. 3.8/5

5.One Last Breath - A little too soft at the beginning but all the ppl who liked With Arms Wide Open will love this songs melodic sound.4.2/5

6. My Sacrifice - The single that started this CD. Very inspirational and uplifting. 4.8/5

7.Stand Here With Me - The best song on the CD and has a great guitar riff. 4.9/5

8.Weathered - Just a little slower with a nice SouthWestern feel. 4.0/5

9.Hide - Great sounding and well thought up music. 4.5/5

10. Dont Stop Dancing - A happy song about being tough in life and keeping your head up. 4.2/5

11.Lullaby - Nice acoustic and a bedtime song. 4.3/5

Creed throughout this album experimented and met with success. They fused their fast paced strong deep songs like Bullets and Signs with soft almost lullaby radio friendly tunes like Don't Stop Dancing, Lullaby, Who's Got my Back?.

I enjoyed this album for two of the three favourite songs were on this album, Signs and Who's Got My Back. My other is Illusion on Creed's platinum album My Own Prison. The last track is perfectly suited to end the album and as we found out later it also closed their career as a band when Scott Stapp went his own way.

Each song on this album is beautiful and reveals a side to the nature of Creed that has impacted on the huge fan base and the band's critics.

First of all , I almost wanna kill the editorial review for calling "Who's Got My Back" Zeppelinesque. I think Amazon deserves a punch for that. I mean I respect Zepplin but this is a blasphemous comparison.

I bought this record without thinking twice.There are times when words fail me and I cant describe the series of underlying emotions which are engraved in music. Weathered is pretty much Creed's best offering.

The album begins with a bang BULLETS. I couldnt beleive this was Scott Stapp screaming "I think they shoot cuz they want it". Thats what causes me to headbang and its surprisingly the only real headbanger Creed did. Worth the effort really.

"Whos Got My Back Now" impressed me with its crisp , long but not boring appeal. A bit mesmerising at times. There have been times when Ive wanted to listen to this track more than anything on the album.Next,many people said "One Last Breath" reminds them of another Creed song I refuse to name.To Each his own. However I think its simply the most soul speaking track on the album. "My sacrifice" took me forever to discover its true meaning. Not a bad track , not a great track. "Stand Here With Me" is what all my friends love but I cant stand it and I think its my least favourite track on the disc. "Weathered" has the most enlightening of lyrics. A good title track. "Dont Stop Dancing" is just an excellent song that reflects the character that embraces Scott Stapp's Soul. I think its a genuine awakening of a song.

Lullaby is something I will dedicate a small paragraph to. Its Stapp and an acoustic guitar. I dont understand why theirs a disliking for this song. I think its simply beautiful. Its something I'd sing to my girl when I look into her eyes on those long winter nights. Its a song that I will always remember Creed for. Its something beyond comprehension. Labelling it "sweet" would be a fruitless and non-effective way of appreciating it.

Weathered is truly Creed's best record.

When the rock group Creed stepped out of the studio for the third time, there were doubts about the band's third album. But once the record's first single: "My Sacrafice" hit the airwaves, it was clear that WEATHERED was going to be an amazing piece of work. And it was, ALL of the record's tracks stand out in their sound, lyrics, and originality. This time around, Stapp delved further into his Native American herritage for new sounds. This is quite apparent for the track "Who's Got My Back?". Amie Stapp along with the Tallahassee Boys' Choir joins her husband in peforming beautiful vocals for the song "Don't Stop Dancing". Stapp also brings forth his political lyrics again as he had for Creed's debut record. These words took on new meaning after the tragedy that struck our country just two months before WEATHERED's release. These words are really "in your ears" for the tracks "Freedom Fighter" and "Signs". Drummer Scott Phillips takes on a bigger role as well, for he produces more melodies and harmonies for he also performs keyboards. Mark Tremonti also performs bass as well as the guitar for this album, giving even more musical sounds than the group had ever produced. He backs off the distortion and dismisses it entirely for the beautiful accoustic performance on the track "Lullaby". When distortion is used, Tremonti balances it out with a clean guitar tone and this is apparent for most of the tracks. WEATHERED is Creed's most musical and best work. This record is a must have.
