Disco de De-Phazz: “Godsdog”

Like fellow German, Funki Porcini, De-Phazz is a culture-vulture's pastiche dream! And you can't help but dance around the room to these upbeat snippety songs.

The titular delight loops one chord progression and one sentence into a trippy trance that sends you right back to the "Ghost in the Invisible Bikini"-Don Kirshner "silly" songs of the sixties!

It all ends with the slow croon, "Anchorless," which wouldn't be out of place on any adult-contemporary station. Those Germans have post-modernism down to a "T"!

This is one of the most elegants musical works ever by a nearly unknown band: The magnificents De-Phazz.

The vocals are always sweet and smooth. Sometimes, the interpretations are sensual. The vibes are slow, kind of "chillout" mood. There are some trully inspired and magical moments such as the sensuality of "Jazz Music", "April Shower" and the superb "Time Slips", the pure pleasure of "Zero Zero" and "Happiness", the drum'n'bass/bossa nova/jazz of the sublime "Havana Moon"(maybe the best tune of "Godsdog"), or the musical landscape of "Anchorless".

"Godsdog" is a very refined "cocktail" of sounds, vibes and inspired musical taste. Even if you're not a fan of electronic music, you should trully like this superb record. Don't miss this vibes, this elegance...

De-Phazz's Dogsgod is sensational electronic, new lounge, acid jazz bliss. I've had the album on repeat both in the car and within iTunes.

I was disappointed, however, to discover upon my first listens of the album that Amazon's digital download service had botched correctly naming the tracks. Although all the track titles were present within the album's songs, they were not correctly applied to their respective true songs. It was cumbersome to correct these errors as an end-user, relying upon Shazaam and non-Amazon internet databases to finally have an acceptable, paid-for product. Thankfully it was far less laborious in getting a refund through Amazon support.

Love this album. Can't really call it techno, can't really call it Jazz, it's a mix of my two favorite types of music in the whole world!! Every one who likes techno, or Jazz, should TOTALLY buy the album, and for further info. my fav song is Jazz Music.

this is the first jazz cd i have ever bought, and i only bought it because of one song i heard from it. it is a nice listen, especially for the price.
