Incognito Album: “Remixed”

Well,Bluey ahs out done himself again allowing the best remixers of the day to create some of the best remixed tunes of all time.........people ahve to understand the creativity of remixing....it's changing the sound and uplifting to another,I was quite impress how they can change jazz to house hip hop and trip hop!

this cd is a true winner!

Remixes can produce one of two different responses: praise from those that find them worth the effort or condemnation from those that consider anything less than the original as being a tad blasphemous. Though I have four other Incognito albums in my collection, all were produced after the release of the initial versions that are found on "Remixed," thus I have no prior knowledge of the sound of the originals.

Therefore, I can listen with a "fresh" ear and form an opinion based on my "introduction" to them in their present forms. Each of the tunes found on the twelve-set compilation have been redone by well-known masters of "revision," including favorites David Morales and Roger Sanchez.

Plus, anytime that I can hear Jocelyn Brown's powerful vocals (on both versions of "Always There") is time to jump for joy.

The infectious tribal feel of "Everyday" is another reason to buy this album.

It's hard to believe that the release is a decade old!!!

Jean Mauick's Jazz-Funk delight, Incognito, has a solid arsenal of music that have developed into a resurgence of Brit-Pop. The idea to make the this music dancable and "Disco-esque" in Incognitos' "Remixed" was supposed to be a success. So why does it fail so miserably?

Mauick's DJ's-for-hire group places too much emphasis on synch beats than cohesion. The result is a CD that is neither danceable - or likeable. New and frequent Incognito listeners will not be pleased with "Remixed." Rarely fun and remotely interesting, this CD should have had more of Mauick's input. The lack of interest clearly shows.
