Disco de Lynyrd Skynyrd: “Legend”
Descripción (en inglés) :
Personnel: Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, Garry Rossington, Leon Wilkeson, Billy Powell, Artimus Pyle, Allen Collins, Don Barnes, Larry Junstrom, Steve Brookins, Jeff Carlisi, Ed King, Bob Burns, Ron Brooks.

LEGEND contains previously released B-sides never before on LP, tracks intended for the "Street Survivors" LP which were incomplete at the time of the accident that ended Lynyrd Skynryrd, (recently completed by Gary Rossington, Leon Wilkeson and Billy Powell) and tracks recorded live in Atlanta. All remaining tunes contain recently added over-dubs.

Like the earlier collections SKYNYRD'S FIRST AND LAST (1978) and SKYNYRD'S FIRST (1998), the '87 compilation LEGEND followed the same format, featuring demos and rarities. But while SKYNYRD'S FIRST concentrated solely on early material, LEGEND contains tracks from throughout the band's first tenure together (1973 through 1977). While newcomers to Skynyrd should stick with their officially released '70s albums, longtime fans searching for uncommon tracks will undoubtedly enjoy such selections as the Steve Gaines penned and sung "One in the Sun," as well as "Mr. Banker" and "Four Walls of Railford."

- One of LS's best
This is the first LS album that I heard and that which hooked me on to the band. Later I heard that this album was made up of old unreleased material and released as a tribute to the dead band members. But still this doesn't in anyway diminish the strength of the album - in my opinion this album is worthier than albums like Gimme back my bullets or Nuthin Fancy. To think that unfinished material of LS itself is this powerful only reflects the high level of talent that the band represented. Strong compositions and great guitar work mark this album. There's a dynamite live version of the "Simple Man" - even the original in "Pronounced ...", pales in comparison with this. Plus the incredible "One in the sun" with its soulful guitars and great singing by Steve Gaines. If Gaines had survived the plane crash I think he could have comfortably taken over the vocals after Ronnie died. Very good blues/rock album. Análisis de usuario - 14 Marzo 2000

- A GOOD COMPILATION OF B-SIDES
THIS CD IS A COMPILATION OF OLD TUNES THE BAND NEVER FINISHED. IT HAS MANY STRONG MOMENTS WITH SONGS LIKE "MR. BANKER," AND "ONE IN THE SUN," WHICH FEATURES STEVE GAINES ON VOCAL AND GUITAR
FOR THE SERIOUS FAN
