Sanctus Real Album: “The Face of Love”
 Description :
Christian rockers Sanctus Real blend elements of post-grunge, indie rock, and emo with messages of faith and devotion. The band sounds very assured on its third outing, THE FACE OF LOVE, with smarter, catchier songcraft, tighter arrangements, and some nice sonic trimmings. The album's opener and first single, "I'm Not All right," is a melodic blast that proves Sanctus Real can be majestic and sweeping, while "Eloquent" is tight and nervous, and the title track merges a post-punk ethos with pop-rock. In all, THE FACE OF LOVE is an impressive showing from one of Christian rock's brighter lights.

- I AM alright!
I am 47 years old and have been listening to Christian Rock music since the early 80s. Over the past 10+ years I have only been drawn to a few good Christian ROCK bands to bridge the gap between my days of rocking out to Petra, DeGarmo & Key, White Heart and Mylon Lefevre throughout the 80s and early 90s (i.e., Whitecross, Altar Boys & Stryper). However, over the past few years I've discovered many new Christian bands that I've fallen in love with. Sanctus Real is one of the bands at the top of that list. Their latest release, The Face of Love, is outstanding. What fascinates me is how much of their music seems to effortlessly move in-and-out from smooth pop/rock type music to hard crunching rock -- all within the same song(i.e., The Face of Love, Don't Give Up, Thank You). My favorite song on the cd is "We're Trying" however, "Eloquent" is an especially fun song too in that the lyrics often cause me to crack up laughing: "I'm as eloquent as an elephant/I'm as headstrong as the Mighty King Kong" . . . "I'm difficult, argumentative/I'm as thick skulled as the dinosaur bones . . ." But also goes on to make the point that in spite of all this: "I can't believe you [Jesus]haven't gone away" If you're looking for great Christian rock with a life-changing message, these guys are for [Sanctus] Real!!

- Awesome CD
This is an awesome CD. Totally worth every penny. I had only heard one song by Sanctus Real, 'I'm Not Alright', and I was hesitant about buying the CD in case that would be the only good song on it. But that song was so good, that I got up the determination to buy 'The Face of Love', and did so. I listened to it as soon as I could. And I can say that it is an excellent CD. You might not be able to realize that the first time you hear it, but the second time, you'll really appreciate it. It truly is awesome. The songs are beautiful. Especially 'Thank You' (a fav of mine) and 'Fly'. Buy it- if you have good taste, ;) you will not regret it.

- these guys have done it again!
i've always been a huge fan of sanctus real and this cd is the best one yet. the new hit I'm Not Alright (first track) opens with guitar intro, leads into the awesome vocals of matt and provides something to relate to with the band. the guys really pulled through again putting their entire heart and feelings of how life is going into The Face of Love. This cd is very powerful and has a great new sound.

I haven't bought this cd yet, but I'm listening to it online right now! It is so awesome, they have really come a long way since their first album. The sound of their music has matured a lot. Anyways, I love this album, and I know you will too!
