- 12 Stones delivers their best songs yet
12 Stones has always been a band I think would be a great "EP" band. Their CD's have some excellent tunes on them, but unfortunately there's a lot of filler and forgettable material on their albums as well. With an EP, I feel they would have the time to deliver some quality tracks without the filler. And I was right. "The Only Easy Day was Yesterday" is an EP that in my opinion, does not have a weak song on it. All the songs I can go back and listen to, and I don't skip anything either.
1. Welcome to the End
12 Stones start the new EP out on a heavy note. Although this song lacks an opening riff, it bursts right into the building verse before bursting onto the melodic chorus. Riffs are scattered all throughout the song and the bridge is possibly the most heavy thing this band has ever created. A couple well placed screams help refine the heaviness and power of this song. Very good.
9.5/10
2. We Are One
I've kind of worn this song out since hearing it back in April, but it's still a great track. This song is good, old fashioned hard rock in it's best form. The chorus quickly sticks in your head as the anthemic verses keep you on your toes. My only complaint would be that the bridge doesn't really add much to the song and is forgettable. It just kind of gets lost in the track.
8.5/10
3. Disappear
This one's a solid rocker. A little softer than the previous 2 tracks, but it's still a good song. The verses are tense and the choruses are good and melodic. The main riff is very good, and the lyrics in this song are really good too. I found myself humming this one subconsciously. The bridge is a nice touch, and Paul sings the first part of the chorus softly before bursting into the final part.
9.5/10
4. Tomorrow Comes Today
The album's lone ballad starts out with a quiet guitar loop, before heading into the emotional and soft verses, before the guitars come in and help push the chorus to its best. Paul's vocal work is very impressive on this song, making a worthy ballad to add to my collection of fantastic ballads.
9.0/10
5. Enemy
This song is quickly turning into my favorite song on the EP. It starts off with a guitar intro that sounds very much like Papa Roach's Blood Brothers before bursting into a heavy riff and the angry verses. The chorus is my favorite of the album, and this song has more well placed screams in it. The bridge is nice and heavy with some excellent drum work. Best song on the EP.
10/10

- Can't get any better!
They bring it on every song! I haven't really ever listened to 12 stones that much before I have three other songs of theirs which are very good but this album tops every song of any of their previous stuff. When I bought this I figured maybe a couple of the songs on the album might be good but I wasn't really like excited. This EP definitely makes sense every other album besides I've listened to besides "Welcome to the Masquerade" by Thousand Foot Krutch and "Rebel" by Lecrae have to many songs to fill and only about 5 of the songs on it are good so I can see why they went with an EP because on the EP you just put the best five or six songs on it's good. Now let's do a song review
1. "Welcome to the End" 4.0 out of 5.0. This song is really good but not my favorite.
Clip from song "I'll be standing in the fire when it all comes up in flames."
2. "We Are One" 4.5 out of 5.0. This song is very different from most songs I've heard and that is one of the reasons I like it. In part of the song it says "The Only Easy Day was Yesterday" which is the title of the album.
3. "Disappear" 3.9 out of 5.0. This is my least favorite on the album but not by much I still like the song but I don't connect to it like I do the others.
Clip from song "If I stay here with you, the only thing that I'll lose is me. So I gotta let go, I gotta let go."
4. "Tomorrow Comes Today" 4.9 out of 5.0. This is the slowest song on the album and I think they did a very good job with it.
Clip "So difficult for anyone to see I barely recognize this image of me trying to hide the scars all of them blistering on me."
5. "Enemy" 5.0 out of 5.0. This is not only my favorite on the album but probably my second favorite of all time. It's extremely intense and good.
Clip "So you think you know who I am, You ain't seen nothin yet, Back against the wall, Your guard begins to fall, But there's no sympathy, Your the enemy, Your my enemy!"
There's a brief look at the songs if you want a better look buy the album it won't disappoint!
- You cant go wrong with 12 stones
I have yet to hear a bad 12 stones album. This one is no different. I highly recommend this album to any 12 stones fan, Christian rock fan, or just regular rock fan.
- Great Tunes
12 Stones EP is excellent. Too bad they didn't make it into a full length album. Love the nod they give to our armed forces.
- Awesome Band.
Only reason I give this band 4/5 stars is because the CD is so short. All the tracks sound great. Can't wait to hear more from these guys!
