Vocalist/bassist Tom Araya has been under the care of a specialist for a back injury, and while he has already made substantial improvement, he is continuing on with doctor-prescribed treatment. "Right now," said Slayer's manager, Rick Sales, "our main concern must be the full and permanent recovery of Tom, so we have decided to clear the calendar and give him the extra time he needs to concentrate solely on good health." Hollannin, Saksan, Espanjan, Ruotsin, Suomen ja Brittein saarten Sonisphere Festivaleilla oli kävijöitä yhteensä 300 000. Esiintyjäkaarti oli huippuluokkaa Metallican luotsatessa mm. Slipknotia, Lamb Of Godia, Anthraxia, Linkin Parkia, The Prodigyä ja The Hivesia menestyksekkäästi maasta toiseen. Ensi kesänä Sonisphere Festival tekee paluun vieläkin suurempana sinetöiden sen aseman maailman johtavien rock-festivaalien joukossa. Kiertävä rock-sirkus on kasvanut 11 tapahtumaksi, joissa pääesiintyjän pestiä vuorottelevat Metallica, Iron Maiden ja Rammstein. Porin osalta tapahtuma on kasvanut kaksipäiväiseksi ja paikalle saadaan tälläkin kertaa metallibändien todellinen ykköskasti.

Location: Stockholm Iron Maiden, Mötley Crue, Heaven & Hell, Iggy & The Stooges, Slayer, Anthrax och Alice Cooper. Japp ni läste rätt, det är inget fel på era ögon. Samtliga dessa megarockband kommer till Stora Skuggan i Stockholm och Sonisphere festival den 7 augusti nästa år. Detta kommer krossa allt annat du tänkte göra nästa sommar.
